Think GREEN, Act GREEN, Buy GREEN™

At CTL, being environmentally responsible is more than just a catch phrase; it's one of our core
business philosophies. From our Award Winning Meridan™ SL700 EPEAT certifi ed environmentally
friendly PC (AKA 'The Green Machine™') to 'Retronics', our internationally recognized responsible
e-waste recycling initiative that has kept over 1 Million pounds of electronics out of landfi lls, CTL
thinks green. But it doesn't stop there. We take steps whenever possible to make our products more
environmentally friendly... Steps like including free recycling on all of our standard PCs, and being
among the fi rst in the nation to offer our customers ultra-energy effi cient 80 PLUS(tm) power supplies.
We act Green. In our offices, warehouses and production facilities, we purchase renewable
energy and go to great lengths to conserve resources... from electricity, to water to paper.

3 Easy Steps to Green Computing

Step 1: Purchase green products such as ultra-energy efficient 80 PLUS power supplies, Energy Star compliant PCs, and CTL EPEATcertified PCs which meet stringent environmental guidelines.

Step 2: Use less electricity by turning PCs and Monitors off when not in-use and by ensuring that your existing PC's power management features are enabled.

Step 3: Ensure that when your computers and monitors reach the end of their useful life that they are recycled in an environmentally responsible manner by an e-waste recycler such as Retronics™ that does not export potentially toxic materials to 3rd world countries and that follows all EPA e-waste recycling guidelines.

CTL and CTL affiliated companies are proud to pa environmental partnerships

CTL is a ClimateSavers Associate Member. Started by Google and Intel in 2007, the Climate Savers Computing Initiative is a nonprofit group of eco-conscious consumers, businesses and conservation organizations. The Initiative was started in the spirit of WWF’s Climate Savers program which has mobilized over a dozen companies since 1999 to cut carbon dioxide emissions, demonstrating that reducing emissions is good business. Our goal is to promote development, deployment and adoption of smart technologies that can both improve the efficiency of a computer’s power delivery and reduce the energy consumed when the computer is in an inactive state. As participants in the Climate Savers Computing Initiative, computer and component manufacturers commit to producing products that meet specified power-efficiency targets. Associate members are hardware and software vendors who agree to deliver products that meet or exceed the latest ENERGY STAR specification.

EPEAT is a system to help purchasers in the public and private sectors evaluate, compare and select desktop computers, notebooks and monitors based on their environmental attributes. EPEAT also provides a clear and consistent set of performance criteria for the design of products, and provides an opportunity for manufacturers to secure market recognition for efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its products. The EPEAT Registry includes products that have been declared by their manufacturers to be in conformance with the environmental performance standard for electronic products - IEEE 1680- 2006. CTL was one of the first manufacturers to have EPEAT registered products. CTL EPEAT registered products are listed on www.epeat.net.

ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved enough energy in 2008 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 29 million cars — all while saving $19 billion on their utility bills. CTL Energy Star registered products are listed on www.energystar.gov

ReTronics is CTL's E-Waste recycling and takeback division. ReTronics is dedicated to protecting the environment and public health through the responsible recycling of electronics equipment.

80 PLUS is an innovative, electric utility-funded incentive program to integrate more energy-efficient power supplies into desktop computers and servers. The 80 PLUS performance specification requires multi-output power supplies in computers and servers to be 80% or greater energy efficient at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load with a true power factor of 0.9 or greater. This makes an 80 PLUS certified power supply substantially more efficient than typical power supplies. CTL is proud to be an 80 PLUS industry partner and integrates 80 PLUS certified power supplies into many of our standard PC configurations.

CTL's e-waste recycling division, ReTronics is pleased to have been awarded the City of Portland, OR "BlueWorksBusiness" Certification - This program certifies Portland businesses who participate in recycling, waste reduction, and sustainable purchasing practices.
