The Intel® Reader is a mobile handheld device designed to increase independence for people who have low vision, blindness, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, or anyone who struggles with reading standard print. Its unique design combines a high-resolution camera with the power of an Intel® Atom™ processor to convert printed text to digital text, and then reads it aloud to the user. When the Intel® Reader is used together with the Intel® Portable Capture Station, large amounts of text--such a chapter or a book--can be easily captured for reading later. With the Intel® Reader, users have convenient and flexible access to a variety of printed materials, helping to increase their freedom, enjoyment and confidence in their daily lives, and to improve their productivity and efficiency at school and work.
